Background

I'm a Texas Hill Country native, and I built Matrix Functional Nutrition around the belief that most chronic disease is preventable when we find and address the root-cause early. My goal is to help you become your own powerhouse.

Education

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Texas A&M University through the Didactic Program in Dietetics. During my undergraduate years, I worked with Texas A&M Performance Nutrition and also independently as a personal trainer, where I developed a strong foundation in nutrition and learned how precise fueling strategies drive performance, recovery, and body composition.

Clinical Training

I went on to earn my Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition from Texas A&M and completed my accredited dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma and acute care facility in the heart of Dallas. Working in that environment gave me hands-on experience with complex, high-acuity patients and a deep respect for what modern medicine does well.

Turning Point

In the clinical setting, I noticed a pattern. Many of the patients I saw had diseases that were progressing along with underlying metabolic dysfunction. Managing symptoms was necessary, but it wasn't enough. My focus shifted from symptom management to disease prevention and root-cause investigation, and I saw a real need for more dietitians working upstream to prevent chronic illness. That realization led me to start Matrix Functional Nutrition. I'm currently completing my Integrative and Functional Nutrition Practitioner certification to further advance this work.

Why "Matrix"?

Energy is created in the matrix of our mitochondria, the part of the cell most of us remember as the "powerhouse." When that system works well, we feel it: steady energy, better sleep, clearer thinking, and a body that functions the way it should. Matrix Functional Nutrition combines the clinical, evidence-based training I received in modern medicine with a functional mindset, so you can overcome the symptoms holding you back and build lasting health.

My Credentials, Explained

I am a Registered Dietitian (RD), credentialed through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). I am also a Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Texas. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition (MCN) from Texas A&M University. I am a certified personal trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

My Philosophy

I believe your body was designed to be cared for well. My ultimate goal is to glorify Christ with my life and to help others steward their bodies as the temple God created them to be. Every client is treated with respect, compassion, and honesty.

Life Outside the Office

I am always trying my best to practice what I teach. You'll usually find me outdoors, playing pickleball, traveling, fishing, or feeding my farm animals. An active and connected life is part of good health.
